Who This is For:
For those ready to jump, the dreamers, the wannabe entrepreneurs, and future business leaders. And for those who already did but just need a leg up. *Not for pussyfooters.
My Background:
Before I started Folk Rebellion I was a brand strategist & creative director that loved to make rad stuff. My head is in marketing, branding, strategy and entrepreneurship and my heart is in creativity but my soul belongs out of a box. That is why I chose to be a consultant (aka my own boss) to some of the most innovative and emerging brands as well as some monster corporations. I came on as a fixer and coach, pulling out the ideas for the people in charge, founders, and creators. I won awards like the coveted '40 Under 40' and created viral campaigns that won my clients tons of awards. I've been recognized by Social Media Week, Brand Innovators Group, and the SoDA Report. My background leans heavy on digital, content, communications and publicity and pairing it all with an IRL element. I hate the term lifestyle brand but that's just because most people don't know how to do it....I do.
How I Work:
My program operates as your facilitator – pulling all the good bits out of you and organizing them into a plan of action. I believe that agencies are shit and nothing compares to the authentic yumminess of what lies inside you (your ideas, dreams, plans, gut instincts) and THAT is what sets apart a business or brand from all the noise.
Why I'm Offering This:
My methodologies, strategies, work, and experience are for sale. Since I am not going to take clients anymore - I know there are lots of folks with amazing ideas, brands, products, missions, etc who still want to do what I am walking away from. I typically have charged a kajillion dollars for this. But as part of my penance and making sure I never go back - I’m giving away my secrets to anyone who wants them. That way they are no longer proprietary, no longer something I can fall back on, and no longer only for big businesses that can afford it. This will be the last and only thing I “sell”. And it will only be available for a short period of time. It’s also just happens to be built and based on Grit. Resilience. Instinct. Tenacity. Unabashedness.
What This Is Not:
Hiring me to do the work for you.
A logo design project.
Never ending e-course with too many pdf's leaving you feeling confused.
Business therapy.
A class or lesson plan.
300 people all getting the same boilerplate cookie cutter bull shit template.
Ego Stroking.
Fluff.
What This Is In Marketing Nerd Speak:
Determine key need and benefit of your idea or gain clarity and laser focus on your existing one
Define or redefine your target audience
Understand the competitive landscape
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research
Identify core competencies and business value proposition
Develop a strategic plan and timeline for implementation
When I started Folk Rebellion I didn’t just have the idea. I had the background of a brand strategist and the business acumen developed by working for entrepreneurs to help make an idea go from concept to creation and then on to profitability. I also had a network of mentors, friends, and colleagues who were a phone-call-from-the-fetal-position-of-my-bathroom-floor away.
Many people (maybe you!) have ideas but are left paralyzed by not having the know-how. (Or the phone a friend when all but your botox fails you.)
I’ve been lucky. But I’ve made that luck myself. My career, life path, and brand is one that I’ve built, my way, and allows me the freedom, happiness, and boundaries I missed while working for someone else. Through it I have been able to creatively expand, work on something that is an offering towards a better society and culture, and am continuously inspired by the new people I meet, collaborate with, and am learning from. But more than anything I have gotten here through GRIT.
That’s why I’ve designed this program for all you dare-devils ready to start.
G - Growth (and guts)
R - Resilience
I - Instinct
T - Tenacity
The materials will cover topics such as determining the key need and benefit of your idea, identifying your target audience, understanding the competitive landscape and then creating a strategic plan. On top of that you will create boundaries for balance, define what success looks like as business owners, and develop a credo both your brands/businesses, and ourselves, can live by. Sprinkle in some “how to network without being a dweeb” and “pitching is for baseball” while we rediscover what connection means in a truly disconnected world. And then of course…how to keep going when all others would quit. Because – that baby – is where it all lies.
What's Included:
Guts | Resilience | Instinct | Tenacity
Four Module Programming Workbooks
Self-Paced Homework + deliverables
Question Science
Positioning Statement Methodology
Editorial & Content Strategy Template
Influencer Outreach Dashboard and best practices
Crisis Management Template

Testimonials:
"Prior to working with Jess, Catexplorer was a concept without direction or even a goal. Initially I was hoping to just understand how to get started. However, Jess not only helped determine product market fit, but exactly what that products are, what the next stages are and how execute. I now understand the purpose behind Catexplorer, the value it can bring and its goals. I can now for see the re-launch of the brand and what the future looks like. Jess has helped bring in a lot of clarity that we were missing. It is incredible to think that we have come so far in such a short period of time! As a fellow introvert, I really appreciated the approach Jess takes. Our sessions were engaging and friendly. I also really enjoyed being able to go away from our sessions with a list of tasks and goals to complete. Jess helped make the scary decisions and acted as an external sounding board. I won't lie, the program requires a lot of work and focus. But it was completely worth it and I would do it again! Catexplorer would not be where it is now, if it hadn't been for Jess' input and support."

“When I started with Jess I thought I knew how to market myself. Wellness is pretty straightforward and my offerings were already laid out. With her coaching I was able to see that what I thought was clear was actually confusing in my messaging. She helped me define a solid set of brand guidelines, how to communicate, and empowered me to have the voice needed to sell myself. I’m now fully profitable, always busy, but within my own terms :)”
- Jules Allen
“Who knew that one single person could make such a big impact on the future of my business? Jess has an everyday lingo that’s approachable and not terrifying when talking about often-jargonned marketing and business speak. Years of schooling and internships and MBA’s didn’t provide me the now-obvious knowledge and applications of that knowledge. Her work is tangible and actionable. Yes, she’s a slave driver with high expectations, but at least she does it with a smile on her face. I think it’s because she knows she’s increasing your likelihood of success.”
