MaryBeth LaRue
Kindred Folks are real flesh, blood and bones humans that we feel a kinship with. They often do rad things. Typically, they have a bit of rebel in them too...you know, question everything and follow their heart type of stuff. We think people's lives would be a bit brighter knowing more about them. So here goes....
Say hi to MaryBeth LaRue. Truth be told, MaryBeth and I have a date in the future on an exotic island in the Mediterranean Sea to meet. And that is exactly as this unconventional kinship should start. I for one, will have it no other way. MaryBeth is the Yin to previously introduced Kindred Folk, Jacki Carr's Yang of the Rock Your Bliss Movement. My adoration for this chica comes from her making SHIFT happen through coaching, retreats, and yoga but I knew it was true fate when she showed me a picture of her English Bulldog, Rosey.
Name three items you cant live without: My bathtub, my iPad (loaded with my favorite books and music) and Peppermint Oil
If you could go on a road trip with your best friend tomorrow, would it be more Thelma & Louise, PeeWee's Big Adventure, Easy Rider, National Lampoons Vacation, or Sideways? A mix of Thelma and Louise and Sideways. Spontaneity, bad ass-ery and lots of wine.
What did you do the last time you unplugged? I went for a long walk with my English bulldog Rosy and left my phone at home
Best hangover cure? Excedrin followed by an oceanside lunch of oysters, a big frosty mug of beer and a dip in the sea.
What do you miss most about your pre-internet brain? An attention span.
When, where and how are you when you are the most present? When I'm teaching yoga. Everybody's movements and breath is dependent on you being extremely present.
Describe the most memorable night of your life. I have to say my wedding night. Literally the best day with the best people I ever could've imagined. I married the love of my life in cowboy boots under an oak tree and danced the night away to a Motown band in a barn drinking beer. Oh, and our English Bulldog was in a dress. Life does not get better than that.
What's your spirit animal and why? I'm pretty sure I'm a bear because they are quietly strong and take action. And they are also healers that emphasize the importance of quiet time, solitude and rest. Also bear hugs are my favorite.
Best album cover of all time? I was going to say something really cool but honestly I used to love the album cover of En Vogue when I was younger and I'm standing by it.
What keeps you up at night? Life moving by so quickly.
